Where is City Hall located?

City Hall is located directly across the street from the Police and Fire Departments. A common landmark to look for is the Harrier Fighter Jet surrounded by flags. Our address is 1 Governmental Drive, Havelock. Our mailing address is PO Box 368 Havelock, North Carolina 28532.

How do I establish water and sewer service?
A 24-hour notice is required to establish service. All accounts will be charged a $25.00 account activation fee, which is non-refundable. Deposits will be charged according to meter size and type of service. Effective January 1, 2007 all account deposits are based on utility credit history. Completion of an application is required to determine the deposit amount; both spouses’ information must be on the application. Deposits will be waived if the new customer can secure a sponsor meeting necessary criteria. See sponsor application for details. Office hours are Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm. What is the City’s tax rate?
The City of Havelock’s tax rate for fiscal year 2007-2008 is .49 per hundred. The Board of Commissioners levies the tax rate annually in June.


Does the Mayor have an office inside City Hall, and if so, what are his hours?
The Mayor does have an office in City Hall, but he does not observe regular hours. If you have questions or concerns you would like to address to the Mayor, please feel free to call City Hall to have your message relayed to him, or you may email him at jsanders@havelocknc.us.


Where is the Recreation Center/Complex located?
We are located at 1 Recreation Dr off of Hwy 101. Traveling east on Hwy 101 pass Havelock High School and we are just past Roger Bell Elementary School.


How do I become a volunteer fireman or EMT?
The City of Havelock is always looking to recruit new volunteers for fire and EMS. Please visit our volunteer page.



How do I get a copy of a police incident or accident report?
Come by the Police Department located at 2 Governmental Avenue and request a copy of your report from the Receptionist in the front lobby. There will be a small $5.00 fee to prepare a copy of your report for you.


Where does our drinking water come from?
The City of Havelock ~ Water Treatment System has four (4) deep water wells that draw the raw on treated water from an underground aquifer called the "Castle Hayne aquifer". On a normal day the deep water wells pump 1.4 million gallons of untreated "raw" water to the Water Treatment Plant. The Water Treatment Plants treats the well water through various filtration / aeration processes. The water is pumped to the large elevated water tanks and then it is distributed as needed to the homes and businesses.


When is the Tourist & Event Center open?
We are open to the public from 8 to 5 Monday through Friday, and 10 to 5 on Saturday.
